ABOUT ME.

Alie (never Alex) is a web editor based in NYC. She's currently the executive editor of Strive, a new health and wellness brand at Meredith. She helped launch the brand in 2017 and is now responsible for assigning, editing, and managing the flow of hundreds of pieces of edit and sponsored content across the entire Meredith network.

Before Meredith, Alie was managing editor of Cosmopolitan.com for nearly four years. When she described her job to a fellow Hearst employee once, his reaction was "So, you do everything. Awesome." He wasn't wrong. Most of her work was behind-the-scenes, but sometimes she wrote, and you can read all that here.

Previously, Alie served as the blog development manager for Babble.com and Disney's larger network of parent blogs, as producer and community manager at Nymag.com, and a variety of smaller roles at websites and print magazines that no longer exist. She's a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School and volunteers her time to mentor programs and workshops both at Newhouse and at SU's NYC campus.

In her spare time, Alie explores restaurants around NYC and plays complicated board games with her husband. She also unwinds by growing her mom's dog's social media presence.

If you'd like to get in contact, Alie can be reached at me[at]alexandramartell.com. However, all inquiries related to her work at Meredith should go to alie.martell[at]meredith.com. Please do not send pitches to her personal address. Thanks!
