ABOUT ME.

Alie Martell Mallon (never Alex) is an editor, writer, and content strategist based in NYC. She’s an expert at brand building, thrives on organization, and loves to mentor and grow junior staffers.

Previously, she was the executive editor of app content at WW (formerly Weight Watchers), where she managed the content strategy for WW’s millions of members and partnered with the product team on new feature launches. Before WW, she was the executive editor of Strive, a health and wellness brand at Meredith Corporation, for 3.5 years. She helped launch the brand in 2017 and was responsible for assigning, editing, and managing the flow of 1000+ of pieces of edit and sponsored articles and videos across the entire Meredith network. She worked across client and agency teams and secured renewal for the program each year, totaling $20M in additional revenue.

Before Meredith, Alie was managing editor of Cosmopolitan.com for nearly four years. When she described her job to a fellow Hearst employee once, his reaction was "So, you do everything. Awesome." He wasn't wrong. Most of her work was behind-the-scenes, but sometimes she wrote, and you can read all that here.

Alie has also served as the blog development manager for Babble.com and Disney's larger network of parent blogs, as producer and community manager at Nymag.com, and a variety of smaller roles at websites and print magazines that no longer exist. She's a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School and volunteers her time to mentor programs and workshops both at Newhouse and at SU's NYC campus.

In her spare time, Alie explores new recipes, explores NYC’s playgrounds with her toddler, and plays complicated board games with her husband.
